Following is a 1998 British-American independent thriller film directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Jeremy Theobald, Alex Haw, and Liam Gavin. It was written by Nolan after he graduated from London University’s Film School in 1996.

It is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by author Alan Moore. As a boy, Nolan was fascinated by the John Fowles novel The Collector, which tells the story of a lonely young man who stalks and eventually kidnaps a girl.
