Apollo 13 (1995) is a historical space drama directed by Ron Howard, based on the true story of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission to the moon. The film stars Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and Bill Paxton as astronauts Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise, who are forced to abort their mission after an oxygen tank explodes, leaving them stranded in space. The film chronicles their efforts to survive, as well as the mission control team’s efforts to bring them home safely. Apollo 13 is known for its suspenseful storytelling, attention to detail, and the strong performances from its cast.
