Paul Verhoeven

Paul Verhoeven is a Dutch filmmaker known for his provocative and often controversial films that blend action, satire, and social commentary. His work in Hollywood includes Robocop (1987), a satirical sci-fi action film about a cyborg police officer in a dystopian future, and Total Recall (1990), a mind-bending action film about a man questioning his reality. Verhoeven’s most famous film, Basic Instinct (1992), starring Sharon Stone, became infamous for its steamy, provocative content and themes of sexual power and manipulation.
