Sabu

Sabu was an Indian actor known for his roles in British and American films during the 1940s and 1950s, often playing exotic and heroic characters. He gained fame for his role in The Thief of Bagdad (1940), where he portrayed a young street urchin who helps a prince defeat an evil sorcerer. Sabu’s performance in this film made him a breakout star, and he continued to appear in adventure and fantasy films such as The Jungle Book (1942) and The Drum (1938). With his exotic looks and charismatic presence, Sabu became one of Hollywood’s first non-Western stars. Despite being limited to a certain range of roles, Sabu remains a significant figure in the history of early Hollywood cinema.
