Today, I was thinking about congruency and how it relates to filmmaking.
From Introducing NLP by Joseph O’Connor and John Seymour:
You need to be completely congruent about what you do to help the other person, incongruence on your part will give mixed messages, and reduce the effectiveness of the change process. This means that you need to act congruently as if you believe the techniques will work. Relationship and congruence are at a higher logical level than any technique that you can apply within them.
Wow, substitute a few words here, and they’re talking about filmmaking!
For readers who aren’t aware: NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is a self-development movement that is part science and part art.
This was a rather short post today, but hopefully it’s introduced you to some things to look into. Thanks!
