1. Adobe Premiere on mobile
Adobe ended Premiere Rush on September 30, 2026. It is no longer available to download, technical support has ended, and Adobe says the Rush apps may no longer function. The replacement is Premiere on mobile, a free editor for iPhone and Android, plus Premiere on desktop.
Premiere on mobile is for people who want to edit on a phone without learning advanced programs like Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer. Projects made in Premiere on iPhone can be opened in Premiere on desktop. Adobe says that handoff is not available from Premiere on Android yet.

2. Quik
GoPro Quik is the current mobile editor for iOS and Android. Quik for desktop is discontinued: GoPro removed the Mac app from the App Store on December 31, 2024, and it did not release a Windows version.
The free mobile app can trim a clip, adjust the frame, and apply a limited set of filters. GoPro camera owners also get a small set of themes and royalty-free tracks. Automatic highlight videos, the wider theme and music library, and cloud backup require a GoPro or Quik subscription. An older Quik app that GoPro deprecated in 2021 stopped working, including sharing, on March 23, 2026 — use the current Quik mobile app.
3. LumaFusion (iOS, Android)
LumaFusion is an app that allows you to create videos from your iPhone or iPad and then edit them with a variety of features. LumaTouch also ships it for Android and ChromeOS. You can import footage, add text, filters, titles, and transitions.
Videos created in the app are compatible with any video editing program on Windows or Mac computers.
Editors can send a project to another device, or exchange comments through Frame.io and Dropbox Replay. LumaFusion does not offer live co-editing through iCloud Shared Photo Stream.

4. KineMaster (android, Ios)
KineMaster is a video editor for Android and iOS. The core of the app is multi-layer timeline editing, with effects, music, text, and filters. It is not a dedicated stop motion camera; stills can be cut together on the timeline, which is not the same as a stop-motion tool.
With its wide range of tools like editing functions, filters, and effects as well as presets for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook Live Video, and YouTube; there is no limit to what you can do with KineMaster.
It allows you to film and edit videos on your phone, which is perfect for beginners who are not as familiar with editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
5. Imovie (apple)
iMovie is a video editing software application for Macs and iOS devices. It’s designed to be used by beginners in the world of video editing and has features such as automatic movie trailers and music videos that make it easy to create great content with little effort.
The app is available from the App Store or Apple’s website for free!
It is the perfect tool for anyone looking to make movies on their phone, tablet, or laptop. It’s easy enough for beginners to use with features that can be customized by more advanced users as they become comfortable with the program.
6. Filmora (android, Ios)
Filmora, formerly FilmoraGo, is Wondershare’s video editor for Android and iOS. It has many features, such as the ability to insert music into your film so it feels more natural. You can also edit clips together from different videos in order to create a new one.
Filmora is a video editing app that allows you to edit your videos in just minutes. You can add filters, overlays, text, and even music to your video with the tap of a button.
For example, you could:
- create a slideshow by adding text captions and transitions between clips,
- make slow-motion effects using high frame-rate shooting techniques,
- add music from Filmora’s in-app library, which is licensed for projects made in Filmora (tracks you import yourself can still be copyrighted), or
- create stop-motion animations from still photos.

Apple Clips (discontinued)
Apple stopped updating Clips and removed it from new App Store downloads on October 10, 2025. If it is already on your device, Apple says you can keep using it on iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 or earlier, and you can redownload it from your Apple account. Save finished videos to Photos. For new edits, use iMovie or another app on this list.
7. Filmmaker Pro (ios)
Filmmaker Pro is an iPhone and iPad editor from Tinkerworks Apps. It does not match Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. It offers mobile tools such as trim, filters, transitions, text, and an in-app music and sound-effects library. The paid set is a subscription or a lifetime unlock, not a 2016 launch giveaway.
It includes transitions, text, and graphics. It is not a desktop motion graphics or 3D animation package.
The interface is sleek and intuitive so you can get started quickly without having to read any instructions on how to use the app.
The best part about this app is that anyone can easily learn how to use it because there are explanations for all of the tools used in creating your project included within the app itself.
It has many features such as: making a title, adding background music and sound effects, adding text to the screen, and more!
8. Inshot (cross-platform)
Inshot is a cross-platform video editing software that has been designed with the goal of making it easy to create videos for social media. The app offers basic functionality, including trimming, video stabilization, and voiceover recording.
It allows users to choose from a variety of filters and effects when editing their videos which can be shared on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.
Inshot features a timer for those who don’t have someone else to snap their picture while they look at the camera, but it also includes other features like filters so you can make sure the photo looks great before uploading it to social media sites like Facebook or Instagram.
9. ActionDirector
CyberLink ActionDirector is a Windows editor for action-camera footage. It is not free: CyberLink sells ActionDirector 3 and offers a 30-day trial that places a watermark at the start of exported videos.
It is a software application that can be used to create and edit movies with ease. Users of ActionDirector are able to make use of the intuitive interface, which makes it easy for beginners and experts alike to create films quickly.
Instagram Video Editing Apps
Boomerang by Instagram, previously listed here as a separate download, was discontinued as a standalone app in 2022 — the feature now lives inside the main Instagram app instead.
For a longer edit than Instagram’s own tools, use a timeline app such as LumaFusion, already covered above. Pinnacle Studio is Windows desktop software, and Studio 21 is not the current release — Corel’s download page lists Studio 26 as the newest edition.
