This is the 35th instalment of this feature here on Filmmaking Lifestyle, where we chart the best-of-the-best from around the filmmaking and video production world. This article covers the best posts from August 2018.

Every month, I post a round-up article featuring the best things I’ve found around the web on filmmaking and video production. If you missed one, we have a complete archive here.

We’re talking articles, videos, infographics, all sorts. Anything that stands out to me and that I think is worth keeping in an archive, I’m going to include in these reports.

I post these articles at the end of each month, along with all the regular posts you get on Filmmaking Lifestyle.

The Best Posts Of August 2018

Howdy. How goes it?

A lot has happened in my personal life this month. I got married and we put the wedding together in less than 3 months! Must be something of a record!

After the wedding, my wife and I (!) went on a Meditarrean cruise. In all, we saw about 12 countries and put in a lot of miles of walking and sightseeing.

I have to admit that I was a little unsure about cruises to begin with. Like lots of people, I viewed cruises as a bunch of old people on a ship sunbathing. How far from the truth could I be!

The cruise was a mix of ages and we met some great people. Waking up in a new location every morning (after sailing overnight) was fantastic! We both agreed that this trip was the best we’ve been on.

It ticked so many boxes for us – the luxury and the service of the cruise ship (literally a sailing 5 star hotel), combined with the walking and sightseeing and being able to see so many countries, cities, towns and locations in such a short period of time.

I’d recommend a cruise to anyone, young or old. There’s truly something for everyone. This 2 week cruise was a helluva memorable trip for so many reasons and we have memories that we’ll have for a lifetime!

I took a lot of photos and even shot some video footage (although I tried not to work too much!) Hope to share some of those with you in the near future.

Let’s get started and jump into the best from around the web this month!
