The main purpose of a dash cam is to provide evidence in case of an accident or vandalism against someone who damages your vehicle or causes injury to you or others while driving.

The dash cam will keep a continuous film of what happens from

17. Halfords HDC400

The Halfords HDC400 dash cam is one of the best dash cams for its price, which is hard to beat.

The camera records in 720p, which means you won’t get a crystal clear image when playing back your videos on a computer, but it’s still perfectly good enough to make out number plates if necessary.

Travelling at relatively low speeds, such as driving through town or along the motorway on your way to work, the camera records a decent amount of detail, although it’s worth noting that during playback of recorded footage you can only view the footage at 30fps.

However, it’s easy to spot number plates at this frame rate. On the motorway with speed limits over 60mph you can record at 70fps and make out more detail from number plates.

The camera itself has many settings that allow you to tweak how you film, including:

  • night vision mode (which allows you to film better in dark conditions),
  • motion detection mode (the camera will start filming if it detects movement in front of it), and
  • loop recording mode (the camera will overwrite old files once the memory card is full).

18. Viofo A139

The A139 comes with a 16GB microSD card, and can support up to 128GB. The camera records in 1080p at 30fps and has a wide-angle lens that records 170 degrees. It has built-in WiFi, so you can transfer video files to your phone free of cables or wires.

Toggling the WiFi on will allow for quick file transfers without having to remove the micro SD card from the unit.

The A139 also has a screen on the side of the camera, which can be turned on to review the footage from the camera after it’s been recorded.

The Viofo A139 dash cam has both loop recording and parking mode features that can be turned on; loop recording will automatically overwrite older footage when the memory card is full while parking mode allows you to have an active recording while parked but still plugged in.

The Viofo A139 dash cam will record in 1080p at 30 fps, but it also supports 720p at 60 fps. This makes it a good dash cam for low light situations as well as daylight recording.

What Do You Need In A Great Dash Cam?

Dash cams are getting more and more popular, and they make a great gift for drivers of all ages. You just never know when you’re going to need video evidence of a traffic accident (that wasn’t your fault).

Tried-and-true brands like BlackVue have been making dash cams for years now, so it’s no surprise that their products make the list of best dash cams. Their DR650GW-2CH is an awesome choice with tons of features at a very reasonable price.

But what exactly do you need in a good dash cam? It’s not just about the features.

There are plenty of models out there with lots of bells and whistles that won’t help if the picture quality is low or the mounting system is shoddy.

Here are some key points to consider when shopping for a dash cam:

Video Quality

This is probably the most important feature, since it captures the footage you’ll show to others or use as evidence in an accident.

A good dash cam will have a wide-angle lens (170 degrees or more) and high resolution (1080p minimum). The picture should be clear when driving in low light conditions or at night.

Image quality is particularly important if you want to use your

There are a variety of different features that a dash cam can have, so it’s important to know what you need in your dash cam before you start shopping.

Each dash cam will have different features, and not all of them will be necessary for everyone.

Takes Good Video Footage

This is probably the most important feature of a dash cam. If the video footage isn’t clear and easy to read, it’s as good as useless.

Some dash cams have better night vision than others, so if you’ll be driving at night, you might want to get a dash cam that has great night vision capabilities.

Easy To Use

You don’t want to be fumbling around with your camera while you’re driving. A good dash cam should have an easy-to-use interface that allows you to easily turn it on and off when necessary and change settings without any problems. GPS capabilities:

GPS capabilities are becoming more and more popular with dash cams because they allow people to see where they’re going while they’re driving, making it easier for police officers or insurance companies if there is ever a dispute about a driver’s location during an accident or incident. Some models even sync up with Google Maps or other popular mapping software so that footage can be

Having the best dash cam for your car is an essential investment. It can be very useful in the event of an accident or to record an important aspect of your life.

To find the best dash cam for your needs and budget, you will need to consider certain factors. These are listed below.

Lens

This is perhaps the most important feature of a dash cam. You need one that has a wide and clear lens so you can capture everything happening on the road ahead, as well as in front of and behind your vehicle.

A camera with a wide-angle lens will be able to capture all sides without obstruction while you drive around town or on vacation. The Lens should automatically adjust to light conditions and not get damaged easily if it gets hit by debris.

Battery

This is also an important factor to consider when choosing your dash cam. You want one that has an extended battery life so it can last through long trips without charging it.

A longer battery life means that you don’t have to stop driving in order to charge up your camera before continuing on your journey.

Storage

Storage is another feature you need when searching for the best dash camera for your car. If you don’t have enough storage, you may end up losing data or having to remove it from

There’s a lot to consider when shopping for a dash cam. While there are hundreds of models on the market, not all of them are as good as they claim to be.

Tons of dash cams are on the market, with new ones appearing each day. The problem is that most of these cameras don’t actually protect you or your car.

They don’t have GPS tracking that can place your location at the time of an accident, and they might not have audio or visual recording capabilities. Some even claim to record in high definition but in reality, they only record in VGA resolution.

So what should you look for if you want to get a dash cam? There are several features that make a dash cam truly great:

GPS Tracking and Parking Mode

If you’re looking for a dash cam that can protect you, then you need one that has built-in GPS capabilities. It should be able to record your speed and location whenever your car is in motion, but it should also be able to sense motion when it’s at rest so it can turn on and record when there’s an accident or impact.

Even more important than the camera sensing motion is the fact that the camera records audio and video, so it’s protected from tampering by others trying

Trying to decipher what happened when a fender bender occurs is a lot easier if the footage is recorded onto an external storage device. But with hundreds of dash cam models on the market, how do you know which one is best? Here are a few key features to look for:

  • A high resolution display that allows you to see important details, such as license plates.
  • A wide angle lens that can capture as much of the road as possible.
  • An in-built G-sensor that will save important footage automatically in case of an accident.
  • A recording loop that can save footage for more than five minutes before it gets overwritten.

Best Dash Cam – Wrapping Up

In this article, we talked about the features you should look for in a dash cam, and we gave you some recommendations for cameras that fit your needs.

We also shared some important safety tips for driving in low-light conditions.

The best camera for you is the camera that suits your personal preferences. If you don’t want to deal with installing a separate power source, or if you have better things to do than read through instruction manuals to get the settings just right, then a plug-and-play dash cam is probably the way to go.

On the other hand, if you want a little more control over your recording experience, like the ability to choose where and when to record, or if you want access to more advanced features like GPS tracking, then a dedicated dash cam is your best bet.

In any case, make sure to adjust your settings before hitting the road. You’ll want to be sure that your camera is capturing footage in 1080p HD quality at 30 frames per second (or 60 frames per second if it supports that option).

And remember: always lock your doors when getting out of your car. It’s easy to become distracted by a particularly good parking spot or an argument with a friend, but it only takes a moment for someone to break into an

I hope you enjoyed reading this dash cam review as much as I enjoyed writing it! This was a fun project, and I learned a lot through the process.

Tons of people have asked me which dash cam is best for them, and there is no easy answer. If you’re trying to decide between cameras, the biggest consideration should be your budget, followed by features that are important to you.
